Outstanding guides, great cycling, amazing food

We were a self-contained BIG group of 22 and Laurel and her crew made our trip a seamless adventure with great rides, outstanding food, and dozens of personal touches like cool towels to greet us after a day of riding. The bikes were excellent and the additional fun trips like whale watching day and kayaking made it even more special. Recommend ISLAND JOY RIDES to all levels of cyclists. This is a great outfitter.

We start with a welcome meeting at your first hotel, where we’ll fit your bikes prepare you for your time with us. Once you’re settled you’ll cycle to your first adventure: a bird’s eye view of our region. Our helicopter will whisk you away for an aerial tour of our rivers, islands, ocean and mountains; culminating in an afternoon picnic on the top of our Comox Glacier. Cycle on forest paths and along the coast as you make your way back to your hotel.

After dinner on your own we invite you to join us at the beach for a campfire and dessert (a Campbell River experience is not complete without a beach fire).

Day 2 - Island
Cycling Distance: 33 or 44 km

Find the magic of Quadra Island on a bicycle today. From small ferries, coastal trails and stunning beaches to First Nations’ culture and local artists; you are invited to slow down and breathe in the culture of this little island. If you’d prefer support from one of our experienced guides, we can certainly arrange that as well.

Day 3 - Ocean
Discover the beauty of our region and beyond by boat today on a Whale and Wildlife tour. Whales, bears, eagles, seals, salmon…the majestic wildlife and vast ocean will take your breath away. While you’re away, we will transfer your luggage to your new oceanfront resort, Painter’s Lodge, so you can experience Campbell River from a different perspective.
Day 4 - River
Cycling Distance: 25 km

Embrace the river from different vantage points today. Start your day with a cycle to Elk Falls, our 25m waterfall. You can get lost in this majestic forest. Join us this afternoon to explore the secret channels of the Campbell River Estuary on a leisurely kayak. If you are part of our scheduled tour, we invite you for dinner at our private home by the river.

You have choices today! If you’re keen to hike, you can cycle or shuttle to the Ripple Rock Trail for a stunning 3 hour hike, including time for photos and snacks.
