What is your WORD for 2019?
Over the past few years, instead of making New Year resolutions in attempt to better myself, I have chosen a word to focus on, to help guide me through the year. This year, my word is “breathe.” Breathe reminds me to be present, to take the time to appreciate, and to meditate daily. Like many of us, I often find myself rushing through the day, worrying about unnecessary things, letting simple moments pass me by. The word, breathe, will help me be purposefully present.
Our Joy Rides are the perfect opportunity to practice mindful breathing. While cycling – whether it’s along the ocean, through the forest, or beside the river – a gentle reminder to my guests (and myself!) to breathe and savour the smells, sights, and sounds that often go unnoticed will hopefully help us all find even more joy on our journeys.
Ten thousand flowers in spring, the moon in autumn, a cool breeze in summer, snow in winter. If your mind isn’t clouded by unnecessary things, this is the best season of your life.
